The International Cruise Summit is a professional meeting of cruise tourism ideal to share our vision and also our enthusiasm for the future of our industry that we are so passionate about. At Royal Caribbean International we approach the future with optimism, convinced that the cruise sector is experiencing a phase of renewal, growth and responsibility that opens up enormous opportunities both internationally and here in Spain.
For us, it is important to put the current moment of cruise tourism in context: in recent years we have seen how the demand for quality, innovative and sustainable experiences has grown. Our conviction is that cruises should be established as tourist destinations designed to offer great vacation memories, moments of leisure and relaxation connected with the family and with the destinations that are visited.
From our national perspective, Spain plays a key role: strategic ports such as Barcelona, Malaga, Valencia, Palma, Cádiz or Vigo, as well as the richness of our coastal and island destinations are an excellent setting for consolidating high-value routes. At Royal Caribbean we work with the firm belief that cruise tourism is synonymous with quality: we promote memorable experiences, and we do so by betting on ships that define the next chapter of the industry for their technological capacity and innovation applied to all areas. An example of this will be the deployment of the Icon-class ships from Barcelona, a novelty that marks a before and after in the cruise industry.
In 2026 we will have Legend of the Seas, our third ship of the Icon class, which will make an inaugural season in the western Mediterranean, based in Barcelona and Rome. Legend of the Seas symbolizes all those values that I have been mentioning: innovation, avant-garde design, unique experiences on board and exciting routes.
In addition, Royal Caribbean expands the appeal of its routes with access to unique private destinations, designed to offer more immersive and personalized experiences. We are a holiday brand that offers everything any traveller needs.
The moment that the sector is going through is propitious to achieve new goals. At Royal Caribbean we are convinced that Spain is an increasingly consolidated source market that is also showing interest in cruises in the Caribbean and other destinations. The sector is renewing itself and reaching a maturity that allows it to promote investments to do better every day. An example of this is our commitment to Club Royal in Spain, a loyalty program aimed at travel agents that we launched three years ago and that, after the excellent reception, will now move on to a new, even more exciting stage.
I invite you to address the future of cruising at this Summit with a collaborative spirit, strategic ambition and vision of the future. I am convinced that we can take our sector to a new dimension, benefiting destinations, passengers and the planet.
