Suncruise Andalucía and Alborán Sea is the association that brings together the seven major ports of general interest in Andalusia (Algeciras, Almería, Cádiz, Huelva, Málaga, Motril, and Seville), along with the ports of Ceuta and Melilla and the Andalusian Public Ports Agency. Its mission is to promote the region as a leading destination for cruise, nautical, and coastal tourism; integrating innovation, sustainability, and territorial development.
In 2025, Suncruise strengthened its role as a public–private cooperation platform through the 4th International Congress on Cruise and Nautical Tourism (CITCA 2025), held in Motril and Granada under the theme “Where the Sea Meets Innovation.” The event brought together international cruise lines, destinations, institutions, technology companies, and tourism operators, consolidating itself as a strategic meeting point for dialogue and collaboration within the cruise industry and the wider Blue Economy.
From Andalusia, Suncruise promotes a model of Blue Growth that links economic development with environmental responsibility and the social value of tourism. The association’s efforts aim to foster cooperation between ports and regions, creating a cohesive ecosystem that connects the sea, innovation, and Andalusian culture.
With the support of its partners and collaborators, Suncruise continues to position Andalusia as a key player in the European Blue Economy, a crossroads of cultures and seas, where innovation meets heritage, and where the future of maritime tourism is already being shaped.
