Mateo Asensio, a professional with 20 years of experience at the Barcelona Convention Bureau (www.barcelonaconventionbureau.com/en/), specializes in advising and organizing conventions and incentives, as well as promoting them through roadshows, fam trips, site inspections, trade shows, and commercial visits.

Also a member of SITE INTERNATIONAL: Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (https://siteglobal.com/), serving on the Committee Board as Vice President of Young Leaders.
Member of Spain Convention Bureau (https://scb.es/en/), in the Committee Board responsible for its Annual Assembly.
He has held various positions at Tourism Offices of Spain (https://www.tourspain.es/en/network-councils-exterior-tourism/) and representation offices in cities such as New York, Singapore, São Paulo, and Buenos Aires.
For 10 years, he served as Director of the Promotion Department at Turisme de Barcelona, responsible for the strategic definition and execution of destination marketing actions for the city. These included participation in leading international tourism fairs and conferences (ITB Berlin, WTM London), destination presentations in collaboration with institutions such as the European Travel Commission and partners in China and the U.S., as well as workshops involving local companies in national and international markets. He also led initiatives for the LGTBI segment and was an active member of IGLTA (International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association).
Currently, he holds the position of Director of the Cruise Department at Turisme de Barcelona, working on strategic projects related to cruise management with a focus on mobility, sustainability, enhancing the cruise visitor experience, and fostering coexistence with local citizens, as well as its direct link with air connectivity.
