    Since May 2011, Francis Riley heads Norwegian Cruise Line’s international sales and marketing efforts as Vice President & General Manager International. Prior to re-joining Norwegian in August 2010 as Director of Sales for Asia Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean, Riley most recently was responsible for the cruise development at Tourico Holidays. He previously worked for Norwegian in the United Kingdom, having joined in 2004 and was appointed General Manager of the company’s London office in June 2006.

     Riley relocated to Miami in October 2007 to oversee the international business development for the company.

    Riley began his career with Thomas Cook in a variety of roles including reservations, sales, marketing and commercial relations before joining British Airway’s Air Miles Travel Company where he spent five years directing Air Miles supplier agreements. He also worked in the loyalty marketing sector with Nectar, the UK’s largest loyalty programme.

Thanos has worked in the ports sector for over two decades. A professor in port policy and economics at the University of the Aegean, Greece, he is a regular contributor at OECD, UNCTAD, IAPH, AIVP and ESPO discussions on port development. A member of teams advising the European Commission, the Committee of the Regions, and national governments on port performance and development, in the past he served as secretary general for Ports & Port Policy, Ministry of Development, Competitiveness and Shipping, in Greece. He is the co-director of the PortEconomics.eu initiative, and has extensive research and policy experience in the cruise sector.

    Bo Larsen enjoyed a 20-year career in the airline business, before becoming Director for Cruise Baltic in 2007. For 42 year-old Dane Bo, the move was into a completely new field but it proved a seamless switch due to his managerial as well as sales and marketing skills, which were exactly what were required to take Cruise Baltic forward. Since becoming Director, Bo has established Cruise Baltic as a brand to be reckoned with in the global cruise industry. Under his leadership Cruise Baltic has won the prestigious Seatrade Insider ‘Destination of the year award’ twice as well as the Baltic Sea Award 2010. In 2010, Bo Larsen took charge of Cruise Copenhagen Network, and is now heading two major cruise networks in Northern Europe, consisting of 100 partners in total. Cruise Copenhagen Network won the prestigious Seatrade Insider ‘Destination of the year award’ in 2011, only one year after Bo took on the leadership role. Bo Larsen is a CBA graduate from AVT Business School as well as a Stanford Executive Program graduate. Bo lives in the very heart of Wonderful Copenhagen, Denmark together with his 11 year old son Frederik.

    After being awarded his degree in Law at the University of Santiago de Compostela, Ignacio earned a further specialization degree in Cultural Companies Management and Organisation from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya.

    He lectured Civil Law at the University of Vigo and was also the Secretary General of the Social Council of this University, as well as the responsible of the Coordinating Committee of the Social Council of the Spanish Public Universities.

    He did also practice law and was a member of the Technical Commission for Galician Law at the Council for Galician Culture, and he is the author of several publications related to Administrative and Civil Law.

    Manfredi Lefebvre d'Ovidio was born in Rome in 1953. He is the son of Antonio Lefebvre d'Ovidio de Clunieres di Balsorano, a distinguished Italian jurist, university professor and entrepreneur.

    From a young age, he worked in the family business and started his own business ventures.

    Manfredi Lefebvre d'Ovidio works in the cruise industry, and also in real estate and financial investments.

    Since 2001 he is Chairman of Silversea Cruises Group, one of the leading companies in the world of ultra-luxury cruises, which currently owns seven ships.

    Manfredi Lefebvre d'Ovidio is also Chairman of the Heritage Group Ltd., a Lugano-based investment holding company dealing with the management of family assets.

    Manfredi Lefebvre d'Ovidio is President of the CLIA Europe, a European body that brings together the major operators in the cruise industry; Vice President with proxy for Europe of the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), a forum that brings together the major operators in the tourism industry. He is a member of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) a forum that brings together the major operators in the cruise industry; Vice President of the Chambre Monégasque du Shipping (CMS), an association based in Monaco dealing with the protection of operators in the maritime industry and he is also a member of the Board of Directors of the SKULD, a maritime insurance company based in Oslo.

    He is a member of the World Economic Forum in Davos (WEF) and the Aspen Institute (an organization promoting the internationalization of Italian entrepreneurial, political and cultural leadership), and the Leonardo Committee.

    In 2007 he was appointed Chevalier de l'Ordre de Saint Charles and Grimaldi, a title received by His Serene Highness Albert II, Prince of Monaco.

    Bob Lepisto was named president of SeaDream Yacht Club in 2009 and is responsible for North American operations, as well as marketing and sales for SeaDream. A member of the original team that founded SeaDream in 2001, Lepisto was a significant contributor to the launch and development of the company under the direction of its owner, Atle Brynestad. Prior to being named president, Lepisto served as SeaDream’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing and sales.

    Before joining SeaDream, Lepisto enjoyed a position as vice president of sales for the Americas at Cunard Line Ltd. and was responsible for both the Cunard and Seabourn cruise lines operation under the Carnival Corporation banner. Lepisto also served as president of the Institute of Certified Travel Agents (ICTA) from 1994 to 1999. He joined ICTA following a successful 22-year executive sales career with Continental Airlines.

    Intercruises Shoreside & Port Services is an experienced global business offering first class ground handling and port agency services to the Ocean and river cruise industry. Intercruises has over 300 port offices and operates in over 50 countries worldwide, providing turnaround, port agency, shore excursion and hotel reservation services.

    After receiving a degree in tourism at the age of twenty, Mark embarked on his career overseas, working in Greece as a holiday rep for Thomson Holidays. Since then he has taken on a variety of different roles within the travel industry, including Regional Director Spain, Portugal & Cruise Operations for First Choice Holidays and Director of Ground Operations & Onboard Revenues for Festival Cruises. During his career Mark has been located in Spain, Africa, Portugal, Greece and Czechoslovakia. He now lives in Barcelona, Spain.

    In 2003 Mark founded Intercruises Shoreside & Port Services as part of the TUI Travel PLC portfolio of brands. Since then Mark has overseen the growth of Intercruises from a one port ground handler to a global provider of cruise ship services.

    Jorge was born in Bogota, Colombia. Moved to the United States at age 16, where he completed his High School and College with a degree in Travel and Tourism.  Whilst living in Miami and with a future career in mind,  the passion for the cruising industry started growing when he started working as a Ground Services Representative for Dolphin and Chandris Cruise Line (today Celebrity Cruises).  Meeting and Greeting ship’s Guests at the airport and check-in at the pier opened-up a new vision to his professional plans in life and discovered that cruise ships was the direction he wanted to follow. Soon after joined Apollo Ship Chandlers,  a large Food and Beverage concessionaire for cruise ships.  Jorge working for Apollo in the crew control department for 5 years and going to college at the same time to complete his BA degree gave him the knowledge and experience he needed in order to take the next step in his career path, which was joining Regency Cruises in the Purser’s Department and where he completed a full 8 months contract as an Accounting Purser. At the end of his contract with Regency and with the desire to continue growing professionally, traveling and meeting new people, he joined Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. The company that he will always call as the company that offered him many opportunities in the 15 years as shipboard and shore side employee. During his time with RCCL, Jorge worked his way up from Assistant Purser working the Front Desk to Chief Purser and Fleet Financial Controller working at the Royal Caribbean head quarters in Miami and traveling the fleet.  Looking for a new challenge and a more stable life on land after nearly 16 years on ships, Jorge is given to opportunity to become a Hiring Partner for Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd, recruiting in USA and Europe; here is when Jorge founded The Seven Seas Group, a distinguish recruiting agency formed of ex-Royal Caribbean shipboard employees providing recruitment services for shipboard personnel not only for Royal Caribbean Cruises, but also for Norwegian Cruise Line and expanded his recruiting regions to Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama, Australia and New Zealand.     Captain Michael McCarthy is the current Chairman of Cruise Europe (2012-2016) and Commercial Manager for the Port of Cork Ireland. Michael has built up a vast knowledge and experience of the port and shipping sector over the last 42 year including EU Cruise Initiatives projects “Celtic Wave”, “Cruise Atlantic Europe” and Motorways of the Seas”.  Michael has served in many shipping roles from Harbour Master/Port Security/DGSA/ Terminals Manager; he was a Director/Surveyor with Sea Service Ltd, Marine Cargo and Insurance Surveyors and Master with Irish Shipping Limited. He is a Class 1 Master Mariner and has been awarded a postgraduate Diploma (Hons) in Management and Marketing. He is also Past President of the Irish Institute of Master Mariners.

    Tine Oelmann worked in the shipping business for more than 20 years. Starting working for ferry lines she changed to the German premium cruise line Peter Deilmann in 1993. After 10 years work experience in Sales & Shore Excursion department she changed to one of Germanys leading port agencies for cruise lines, Sartori & Berger. As Manager Groundhandling & Shore Excursions she developed and expanded the business continuously in 4 years handling nearly all cruise lines calling Germany. In April 2008 she joined the start up of the new branch TUI Cruises from the very beginning and is now Director Port Operations, Shore Excursions & Groundhandling.

    Luis the Carvalho is the Managing Partner of B&A Europe,  which was formed in October 2013 resulting from a merger between port and destination development firm Consult DC and US cruise and maritime architecture firm Bermello Ajamil and partners (B&A).

    B&A Europe is currently involved on several projects involving Northern European, Danish, Baltic Sea, Mediterranean and West African regions.

    Luis started his career in 1986 with Premier Cruise Lines and RCCL in Miami. He then spent 12 years with Crystal Cruises,  being their LA based Corporate Port Coordinator overseeing shore side operations globally while inspecting new ports and destinations.

    From 2005 on he served as: National Director Cruise Operations in Ultramar Express / TUI Spain based in Barcelona,  Director of Cruise Operations in Tumlare Corporation and Director of Cruise Operations in Kuoni Destination Management based in Copenhagen.

    After gathering knowledge and experience from all angles of the industry he started his own consulting firm Consult DC in 2009 to better serve the global cruise community.

    Luis is also a regular organizer,  speaker and moderator of international conferences, cruise seminars and workshops.

    Emiliano González is the Managing Director of MSC Cruises in Spain and was born in Madrid. He studied "Director of Tourism Enterprises" at the Official School of Tourism in Madrid. His career has always been linked to the tourism sector beginning  in 1967 in the historic CHAT Travel Agency , where he remained until 1980. Subsequently, he held various management positions at agencies  such as  Icab Travel, Atlanta Travel, Vincit,  Mapfre, over a period of 22 years. Emiliano joined MSC Cruises in 2002 as its Commercial Director. In 2004, he became Managing Director of the company in Spain.

    Massimo Brancaleoni is the General Manager of Costa Cruceros and Iberocruceros in Spain and began his extensive career with the company in 1997. Born in Genoa, he has a wide-ranging international experience that he gained in Italy, France and Asia. During his professional life, he has developed skills in finances, sales, marketing and strategic management, becoming Vice President of Worldwide Sales Services at Costa’s Genoa headquarters in 2009. He also achieved the ambitious objective of launching Costa in Asia, a real ‘first’ for the cruise industry, both as a brand and in terms of operations, during his time as Vice President of the newly established Pacific Asia Operations (PAO) division from 2005 to 2009.

    Virginia has over sixteen years of experience in the cruise Industry and has significantly contributed to the ongoing growth of the Spanish and Mediterranean cruise market. She leads the Intercruises Mediterranean region, which delivers Turnaround, Port Agency, Shorex and Hotel services in fifteen countries, at more than 100 Mediterranean destinations.

    After working for a leading Spanish based ground handler for two years, Virginia joined the cruise division of TUI Espana in 1998. She continued to develop her career in the cruise industry until 2004, when Virginia joined the events department of Boehringer Pharmaceutical. However one year later, Virginia was contacted by TUI Espana and became responsible for their cruise operations in Spain. When TUI merged with First Choice, this became part of Intercruises Shoreside & Port Services.

    Virginia completed tourism studies at Turismo Sant Igansi (TSI) and has also achieved a master in Management & Marketing for Tourism Companies from the UOC.

    Àlex Busquets joined Norwegian Cruise Line in May 2008 and as Senior Manager Business Development is responsible for the commercial development of the cruise line in Spain and Portugal. He started his career in the tourism industry 17 years ago with the Brazilian airline VASP where he held various positions. He then moved on to work for the tour operator 5estrellas club / C.A.I.V.S.A. and as a representative for Catalonia, the Balearics and Andorra was in charge of the sales team. Prior to joining Norwegian Cruise Line he held the position as general director for the Grup d’Empresaris Turistics OVER, S.A.

    Anne started to work at Iberoservice—at that time called Cyrasa Internacional—still as a student of Tourism in 1987. Following years of learning engaged in her work as a Group Coordinator and Project Manager, she ended up taking on the responsibilities of being the Director of the Incentive office on Mallorca, while as well being involved in the Incentive Product Management throughout Spain.  In parallel she always followed studies of Psychology and coursed a Master in Human Resources Management back in 1993.

    In 2007 Anne was asked to take over the responsibility of the Cruise Division of her company, which meant an important change and exiting new challenge to her. Since then from central offices in Palma de Mallorca (Spain) she has been overlooking the cruise business side of Iberoservice Incoming Services, a company with a turnover of 200 million Euros which operates throughout Spain, Portugal and several Caribbean and South American countries.

    Miguel Angel Aguirre is General Manager of Edelman Spain. He is in charge of business operations in Spanish market coordinating Edelman Madrid and Barcelona offices.

    Miguel Ángel has developed most of his more than two decades career in Communications and PR industry at international firms. Before to join Edelman, he was Global Communication and Marketing Director at Indra, a system integrator company leader in Spain with strong presence in LatAm and Europe. In this position he was responsible of Corporate Communications, External Affairs, CSR and Brand Management.

    Prior to Indra, Miguel Ángel worked at Burson-Marsteller as General Manager of Madrid office. He was also member of the Board and led the Corporate and Financial Communications Practice, specialized in M&A operations, IPO and Venture Capital, among others.

    He also worked at Ebro Foods Group, a leading Spanish multinational food company where he served as Corporate Communication Director.
