David Selby, former director of cruising at TUI UK (Thomson Cruises and Island Cruises) and Board member of the UK Passenger Shipping Association (PSA). Before his involvement with cruising, he was a tour operator for 15 years and was responsible for holiday planning and destination promotion, becoming an expert on holiday product in Portugal, Spain, Italy, Croatia, Greece and Turkey. Further projects included developing product concepts with hotels, and developing and implementing yield management strategies. Since forming Travelyields in 2011, David has worked on assignments in Moscow, Miami and a number of places in-between. David is also Visiting Lecturer in International Tourism at the University of Hertfordshire, and is a Fellow of the UK Institute of Travel and Tourism. |

Emiliano González is the Managing Director of MSC Cruises in Spain and was born in Madrid. He studied "Director of Tourism Enterprises" at the Official School of Tourism in Madrid. His career has always been linked to the tourism sector beginning in 1967 in the historic CHAT Travel Agency , where he remained until 1980. Subsequently, he held various management positions at agencies such as Icab Travel, Atlanta Travel, Vincit, Mapfre, over a period of 22 years. Emiliano joined MSC Cruises in 2002 as its Commercial Director. In 2004, he became Managing Director of the company in Spain |

Kate O'Hara (B.A.(Hons) Travel and Tourism; Dip. Marketing) started her 20-year travel career with Swallow Hotels before moving to drive growth at Teesside International Airport and Leeds Bradford Airport. In 2002, Kate was appointed as Head of Commercial and Marketing at the port of Dover and has subsequently been appointed Head of Business Delivery responsible for the revenue-generating activities of the port across all market sectors. Dover is now a very successful brand and is the UK's second busiest cruise port with over 150 cruise calls booked for 2012. Kate is very active in the cruise industry and was instrumental in the relaunch of CruiseBritain which she now chairs. The membership-based organisation of ports and service providers works to create an effective, consistent and visible cruise destination brand for Britain. In addition, Kate was elected to Cruise Europe's Council of Management in April 2012. |

Eero Mäkinen is Senior Vice President, Marketing at STX Finland Oy. His additional functions are Vice Chairman of EEIG Euroyards, Brussels and Chairman of Finnish - Korean (South Korea) Trade Association in Helsinki, Finland. Eero Mäkinen has a M.Sc, Naval Architecture from Helsinki University of Technology in 1970. Since 1969 he was employed by STX Finland Oy (previous names of the the company Wärtsilä, Wärtsilä Marine Industries, Masa-Yards, Kvaerner Masa-Yards, Aker Finnyards and Aker Yards) and held various functions over the time in the field of ship design, icebreaking/arctic research, sales and marketing. His previous posts within the group include among other things: President of the engineering subsidiary Wärtsilä Arctic. in Vancouver, B.C., Canada from 1983 to 1989 (present name of the company STX Canada Marine Inc.); Vice President, Marketing and Sales, Aker Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA, USA in 2000 and SVP of Aker Yards, Cruise and Ferries, covering the marketing of all yards of Aker Yards in France and Finland, office in Saint Nazaire, France in 2006 - 2008. STX Finland Oy has three shipyards in Finland: Turku Shipyard, Rauma Shipyard and Arctech Helsinki Shipyard Oy, of which STX Finland Oy owns 50 percent. The Turku Shipyard is the experienced builder of cruise ships and other technically demanding specialized ships and offshore units. The Rauma Shipyard is known for ferries, research vessels, naval ships and multipurpose vessels. The shipyard in Helsinki is specialized in ice-breaking and ice-going offshore and arctic vessels. |

Bernardo Echevarria (Vosges, France, 1960) is a business professional with two University degrees in Law and Philology and 23 years’ experience in the tourist business. He is a firm believer in the importance of leadership and teamwork when applied to business and currently holds the position of Managing Director of Costa Cruises for Spain and Portugal. He has an active presence in tourism and a great knowledge of the key European markets, including Spain, France and Portugal, in addition to his recognized leadership. During his long career, before joining Costa Cruises in 2008, he held senior positions in Pullmantur, Latitude Sud, Royal Caribbean France , U.S. Airways Spain and American Airlines. He is an avid family man who enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. |

Alfredo Serrano is currently the General Manager of Iberocruceros, company belonging to Carnival Group. He is attached to the company since its founding in 2002 and since then has been responsible for its successful management and company spectacular growth. Serrano, 49 years old and born in Madrid acquired his position at Iberocruceros after a very relevant career in business IBM, ABB and Honeywell. At Honeywell, he served as European Director of Business Development for five years and established their base of work in their European headquarters based in Brussels, Belgium. The last position held before boarding, at Iberocruceros was Director of Integrated Services in Southern Europe for the company Asea Brown Bovery (ABB) in Madrid and being responsible for 5 markets within Southern Europe. Mr. Serrano possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering studied at Polytechnic University of Madrid as well as a Master in Business Administration from INSEAD Fontainebleau, France. From his International career he speaks English, French and Italian fluently. |

Nadine Palatz (31) is the manager of the Atlantic Alliance and since five years already the marketing manager of the Hamburg Cruise Center, which promotes the local cruise business and strengthens the destination as such. During her studies she wrote her diploma about the cruise industry and did a market research about the passenger satisfaction with a cruise terminal. As the manager of the Atlantic Alliance, she is responsible for the marketing activities with the aim to create a higher awareness of the cruise destination along Europeans West Coast from Lisbon to Hamburg. |

Even if Maria Angels studied a degree in “English Language & Literature”, soon after her first experiences with cruise ships at the port, she realized that tourism was the industry where she wanted to develop her professional career. After some years working as Ground Operator, she decided to complement her academic profile and studied a master degree on International Tourism in Edinburgh. Soon afterwards she joint BC TOURS where she was given the responsibility to ensure best practices in turnaround operations and develop new tours program, until last 2009 when she became the Director of the Barcelona office. |

Born in Palma de Mallorca on August 18, 1966, he studied law at the University of the Balearic Islands. In 1987 he began his professional career in the Iberostar Group's Legal Department, a position he held until 1992. That year he moved to London to join the team of Sunworld, a tour operator in the same group, gaining experience in all departments such as Procurement, Products and Pricing. He returned to Spain in 1993 where he was appointed Secretary of the Group. After a year, he joined Iberojet, a tour operator in Grupo Iberostar where he served successively in the posts of Assistant Manager, General Sales Manager, Director of Operations and General Manager, a position he reached in October 1996. From that date until 2006 he was CEO of Iberojet, Iberworld Airlines Aerobalear, Viajes Iberia, Turavia, Viva Tours and Solplan companies that formed the Broadcast Division of Grupo Iberostar. This period includes the unique creation in 2001 of the Rail Division, and the acquisition in 2004 of Viva Tours, Turavia and Tui Spain. In 2006 he drove a LBO process, being a pioneer in this field, through which the division of Grupo Iberostar station became the Orizonia Corporation and where he continued to lead as CEO. In 2007 he founded Kirunna Travel, a travel tour operator specializing in long distance journeys and Orbest airline, based in Portugal. He also achieved the acquisition of Condor Travel, the leading terrestrial tour company in Europe and online sales portals Viajar.com and Rumbo.es. Subsequently, in 2009 he managed the acquisition of Journeys, a tour operator specializing in travel to the Walt Disney theme parks. He left the Orizonia Corporation in April 2010. In November 2011 he joined the Barceló Group as CEO of Travel reporting directly to the Co-Chair of the Group, with a mission to return the group to the first line of vertical integration. As head of the travel division he controls and addresses the various companies that consist of: - Barceló Travel agency - network leaders in innovation and value creation. - PlanB - quality gift boxes and travel experiences of reference. - American Express Barceló Viajes - a joint venture created to develop travel and related services for the corporate sector. - National Geographic Store, a leading international retail project. In addition he has been leading the creation and implementation of the new Barceló tour operator division, consisting of the general brands and Jolidey Quelónea and la Cuarta Isla focused on long journeys. |

Luis the Carvalho is the CEO of port and destination development consulting firm Consult DC - offering a full menu of services including planning and design of new infrastructures, market analysis, training programs, marketing and promotion support. Consult DC is currently active in Northern Europe, Baltic Sea Region, Atlantic islands, Central America and Africa. Luis started his career in 1986 with Premier Cruise Lines and RCCL in Miami. He then spent 12 years with Crystal Cruises, being their LA based Corporate Port Coordinator overseeing shore side operations globally while inspecting new ports and destinations. From 2005 on he served as: National Director Cruise Operations in Ultramar Express / TUI Spain based in Barcelona, Director of Cruise Operations in Tumlare Corporation and Director of Cruise Operations in Kuoni Destination Management based in Copenhagen. After gathering knowledge and experience from all angles of the industry he started his own consulting firm Consult DC in 2009 to better serve the global cruise community. Luis is also a regular organizer, speaker and moderator in international conferences, cruise seminars and workshops. |
