Izabella Cooper graduated in mass communication from the University of Bologna (Italy).
She also studied political marketing at the University of California at Berkeley (USA) and conducted her PhD studies in political science at the European University Institute in Florence.She worked for a number of international organisations including the United Nations, the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the European Union.She spent several years in various peacekeeping missions mainly in post-war Bosnia-Herzegovina and Kosovo where she served as chief spokesperson of the deputy Secretary General of the United Nations. She also worked as head of OSCE’s Media Regulation, Laws and Standards department and was in charge of setting up of the regulatory framework for broadcast media in Kosovo. She was also in charge of numerous information campaigns focusing on inter-ethnic reconciliation, rule of law, economy, disarmament and a variety of police and justice projects. She worked as senior media adviser for the United Nations Development Programme related to security sector reform and crisis preparedness. She also worked as senior media adviser for the European Union’s Agency based in Thessaloniki (Greece) focusing on post-war reconstruction projects in North Macedonia, Serbia, and Montenegro. She served as the head of press office in Frontex – the European Border and Coast Guard Agency and is currently involved in public information activities related to ETIAS - the European Travel Information and Authorisation System which will affect 1,4 billion travellers from visa-exempt countries as well as hundreds of carriers.
